There were a few challenges on this project – a poor floorplan with small rooms, very low ceilings and a narrow staircase. A recent renovation saw the removal of numerous walls in the living, dining and kitchen space, a new staircase design and the installation of steel beams to hold up the ceiling space which meant the low ceilings could then be removed. New rustic oak floors were installed and the walls and ceiling were painted the same crisp white to enhance the effect of one vast space. The whites together with the rustic oak flooring contrast beautifully with the bright greens and blues of the Pittwater outlook and provide a calming and restful place to relax.
This project is still in progress, with work commencing on the exterior in March 2016.
